The healing harvest

For me June signals the rose harvest. Each year, I make my trip to the ocean, where the beach rose (Rosa rugosa) thrives. I grow Beach Rose in my garden, but the magic and medicine of the rose really shines by the sea. As for medicine, I make a rose mead, syrup, elixir, and infused honey with the petals each season. But for me, the real medicine is in the actual act of harvesting the petals. The ocean waves crashing, the salty air, the daisy and sea peas in full bloom, and the beautiful bright petals fill my heart with much needed calm, cool, and heart opening medicine.
